Hit & Run (2019) Movie Review

Hello Again, Maders! Last night I watched an Indonesian action movie, Hit & Run. I’ve loved this movie from the start since I watched the trailer. I wanted to watch it and surprisingly my uncle was talking about Terminator (Dark Fate) which is an action movie too. I told him that it’s not been played yet, then I suggested him to watch Hit & Run. He agreed and we went there with my mom an hour before the movie was played.

The actors in Hit & Run are Joe Taslim (a charming man with martial art talent), Tatjana Saphira (a pretty lady and little self-defense action), Lio, Jefri Nichol, David (an antagonist but he’s a martial art athlete in reality, and handsome!), Yayan Ruhiyan (the main nemesis), and so on. Do you need me to introduce you to the main story? Oh okay then.

Hit & Run is a movie about Tegar, a police capturing a drug seller. With the help of his friends, he finds the location of the criminal. This movie is also funny because it contains much comedy. I couldn’t breath when the protagonist is stabbed by the criminal. There words for this movie are breath-taking, romantic, and amusing.

My favorite part is when the protagonist plays piano and sings together with the woman. They have complicated love story but it’s not the main part of this whole story. The absurd scene is when a robber is at mini market, eating snacks above the shelf. As a robber, he talks too much and spoiled.

Okay, from one to ten, I give this movie eight for the score. I recommend you to watch this because this is an action movie originally from Indonesia. You’ll laugh and worry at the same time. Usually Indonesian movies are about drama, but this Hit & Run is special.

Aladdin (2019) Movie Review

Hi, Maders! Have you watched Aladdin? This is the live action of the animation version. I watched this movie with mom last Monday. At first, I didn’t have desire to watch because I know the story already. When I was a kid, I watched the cartoon.

Perhaps some of you don’t know Aladdin. Really? Well, Aladdin is an orphan, living on the street with a monkey named Abu. Actually he is a thief, but he has a good heart. Sometimes he gives his food to the poor. In fact, Aladdin is poor as well. One day, Aladdin meets Princess Jasmine who is wandering alone in disguise. They fall in love. Another day, Aladdin finds a magical lamp with a genie inside. He has three wishes.

Okay, you need to watch the movie by yourself to know the ending. The conflict is nice. This is a musical movie, so the characters sing much. The title of the main song is ‘A Whole New World’. I sang loudly on this song when it’s played. The scene is when Aladdin and Prince Jasmine flying with a magical carpet.

This movie contains some moral values: don’t underestimate the poor or even mock them, bravery to fight for the right, don’t be greedy, and about honesty. I always seek for moral values to discuss. A good movie will always teach us something.

Princess Jasmine is not weak. If you’re a woman and you love to see a female character with full courage, Princess Jasmine is the one. And then, Will Smith plays as the genie in this movie. He’s very funny and cool. Frankly speaking, the actor playing Aladdin looks handsome enough. 

Now is scoring time. From one to ten, I give Aladdin 8.3 for the score. This movie must be difficult to make because it tells about an Arabian Night tale (location: desert). But I will recommend this movie to you who love classical story. Yeah yeah you may know the story of Aladdin, but it’s not a wrong thing to enjoy the live action of Aladdin movie.

Detective Pikachu (2019) Movie Review

Hi, Maders! Did you ever play Pokemon in your childhood? Perhaps you also played PokemonGo? The very recent movie I watched is Detective Pikachu. Usually I watch movies at cinema alone, but this time I went to Transmart with Mom. Suddenly she asked me to watch a movie together at 8am, I just woke up at that time. Then I booked the tickets and took a shower. Honestly I didn’t plan to watch Detective Pikachu, but I did.

Detective Pikachu tells a story of a lonely teenager, Tim, that is informed that his dad is gone. Tim visits his dad’s apartment out of town in Ryme City to gather some stuff but Tim meets Pikachu. Tim understands what Pikachu says. People usually don’t understand what Pokemon says. Pikachu is funny, critical, but sometimes annoying for Tim. Hahaha.

In short, Tim and Pikachu work together to break the mystery of Tim’s missing father. There is something wrong about evil Pokemon. If you haven’t known about Pokemon at all, don’t worry, you won’t be confused to watch this movie. Even you’ll get better understanding about the world of Pokemon.

In Ryme City, everyone has one Pokemon as companion. Pokemon will say its own name while communicating. For example, a Pokemon named ‘Psyduck’ will always say, “Psyduck! Psyduck!” for most of the time. By hearing this mumbling, you know the name of the Pokemon.

I cried twice when I watched this movie but sorry, I forgot which parts. Mostly I laughed so hard because Pikachu is entertaining. I give this movie score 8.0 :’) recommended to watch with family or friends. Okay, that’s all for my review. Now I’m waiting X-Men: Dark Phoenix to be played. See you, Maders!

Avengers: Endgame (2019) Movie Review

Hey, Maders! The next movie I’d like to discuss is Avengers: Endgame. This is the last movie about Avengers although fans still expect for the next journey. If you haven’t watched the early Avengers movies like Captain America or Iron Man, probably you won’t understand this one.

Okay, I will think that you’ve watched all Avengers movies :’) so, the main enemy here is Thanos. He has used infinity stones and destroyed a half population on earth. After doing it, Thanos lives alone on a planet and he even cooks his own meal. I feel surprised to know that Thanos is planting something then harvesting. Hahaha. A ‘farmer’ villain.

Next, this Endgame has a new superhero, Captain Marvel, that helps the Avengers to get Thanos. Thanos reveals that the infinity stones are gone. Finally Thor kills Thanos by cutting his head. In short, the Avengers find a time machine and they try to collect the infinity stones from different period before Thanos knows it.

Well, now I will talk about some strange facts but interesting. The Avengers can breathe easily in space. Some of them are alien, yes, but others are human. They have lung for oxygen but when they visit another planet, they just breathe normally. Secondly, Thor becomes fat! You won’t see a muscular Thor but here you’ll see a drunk man with big belly. I miss the handsome and well-built Thor :’(

Yups, I was speaking about time machine (created by Tony Stark). This machine helps Captain America to go back to his past and meet Peggy, his true love. In the end of this movie, Captain America has a job to return the infinity stones to their times. After that, Steve Rogers is dancing with Peggy in a house, of course with a little kiss. Hahaha. So sweet! Eventually we know the ending of the Captain America’s love story.

Avengers Endgame has high rating from various reviewer. Personally I give this movie score 9.5 :’) many characters in Marvel Universe show up here. The battle to fight Thanos and his army (ugly) aliens is incredible. Well, that’s all for now. Thanks for reading. Have a good day, Maders!

Shazam (2019) Movie Review

Hello, Maders! I watched Shazam in the beginning of April but I wrote this review in the middle of May. Forgive me :’) Writing means thinking and I wasn’t having mood for it a few weeks ago. Now I’d like to share my review towards this superhero movie.

Shazam belongs to DC Comics, not Marvel Universe. I heard that Shazam is the most powerful hero among others. However, I still put Superman above all. I love Clark Kent! Yeah! But actually they have almost the same posture and power, such as flying, laser, bullet immunity, and etc.

The symbol of Shazam is lightning on his chest. It produces electricity and even Shazam helps people to charge their phones automatically by pointing his finger. One of the phones exploded though. Hahaha.

This movie reveals the origin of Shazam and how he gets the power from an old man in a random cave. Billy, an ordinary teenager, defends his lame brother and it proves that Billy has a good heart. In short, he gets power to be Shazam and turns into a muscular man (adult). By saying the word “Shazam!”, he can return to be the ordinary Billy.

This movie is awesome, funny, and touching. The characters has jokes and the scenes are extraordinary. Shazam may make you cry because Billy has tried to find his mom but when he meets her, she doesn’t want him. A true family is the people who raise and stand by you although there is no blood relation. Well, that’s the moral value of the story.

My favorite part is when Shazam tries everything to know his power. You know, he’s a new hero and he has no idea what he can do. He’s not used to be an adult because he has ‘kid’ mind. With the help from Fredy (his brother), Billy a.k.a Shazam does many experiments to find out the power.

In the end of this movie, THERE IS SUPERMAN IN A GLANCE! I can’t see Superman’s face but he’s there with Shazam. OMG! Surely there will be sequel for Shazam and I really hope Superman will join him. In conclusion, Shazam is very recommended to watch. I give this movie 8.5 for the score. Fyi, the boy that plays as Billy is handsome. Hahaha. Okay, that’s all. See you, Maders!
