LINE Today about Malia Obama and Narnia

Hey, Maders! Do you read news everyday? It could be printed newspaper or online news on the internet. I always read news from LINE Today on my iPhone or iPad. LINE is a chatting application and it has complete features, especially for youngsters. On the other hand, I also use Whatsapp as my chatting app but it’s more professional and I use it more to talk with my boss or lecturers.

I get different news twice a day on LINE Today. The first news will show up at around 9 in the morning and the second one will come up at 7.10pm. It’s very informative and giving me knowledge. There are some categories such as Lifestyle, Entertainment, Biz and Tech, etc. I always read all news that LINE chooses for me and I also search for more news about topics I like.

A few days ago, I found news about Malia Obama. She copied what her mother wore as long as she became the daughter of US President. I feel so proud that I have the same name with her, Malia. She’s more beautiful that I am. Haha. She has perfect tanned skin and long legs.

This day, I just got news about Narnia. There was a list about movies spending much money on the production process. Narnia was on the 17th. I tell you, Narnia is my favorite thing in this world. It began when I watched the movies and read the novels. I bought some merchandises about Narnia and I had the poster. Narnia is my inspiration and my imaginary country where I could have a brother like what’s on the movies.

Above all, reading news is important to do. You’re not living in a cave, you live on this planet and you must know what’s happening around you. With reading, you don’t have to move from your chair to know what happens in another country. Plus, when your friends are talking about hot topic, you won’t miss it. It’s silly when you just keep silent because you have no idea what they’re talking about.

I think almost everyone has gadget in these days. Try to browse online news if you don’t want to spend your money to buy printed magazine or newspaper. Reading can be done anywhere and anytime, it only depends on your want. Happy Reading, Maders!

Marion Got Washed and My Smiling Lays

Hello, Maders! I’d like to share my experience when my car, Marion, got washed. The car wash was located in Semarang Regency, honestly I didn’t know the name of the place, and I didn’t want to mention it either. It’s always crowded with cars and people. I saw many employees working there.

I was going out with my mom after taking dad to meet his reunion friends. Recently my parents joined some kind of reunion to memorize their youth. Haha. They’re old now and I get it. After that, my mom showed me the car wash that dad and she usually take our cars.

It was my first time to visit the car wash. My mom and I got off from Marion and she talked with the employer telling that Marion would be washed. Next, we waited in a medium room with air conditioner which wasn’t really cold.

While waiting, my mom worked with her laptop and I did cross-stitch. A few minutes later, there were two men came to the room. Again, a young lady waited and sat next to me. She was busy eating Lays (potato chip) and playing her phone. To be honest, she looked rich and relaxed. Wearing only pajamas, sleeping outfit, I guessed she hadn’t taken a bath. Haha. Finally, I found out that her car was Toyota Fortuner. Wow!

I saw Marion from the window because the waiting room was like an aquarium. You could say that people and I were the fish. Kidding! Marion got washed with snow soap and high-speed water splash. At this car wash, one car was taken care by many people. When it’s finished, my mom and I went downstairs to pay the bill. Oh yes, Marion had her brand-new nitrogen air for the wheels.

On the way home, I asked my mom to buy me Lays, the potato chip. You know that I saw the young lady in the car wash and I felt like eating potato chip at that time. Lays had creativity to bring ‘smile’ for Indonesian. It said, “smile Indonesia!” There is a smiling face without eyes for each package. People usually take a selfie with Lays in front of their face, including me. Haha.

Well, Maders, do you feel like eating potato chip after reading what I write? Go ahead then. Have a good day, Maders!

The 4th Birthday of Perisai Diri Silat Club

Hey, Maders! On Friday, I attended a birthday celebration of my martial art club, Perisai Diri. We call it ‘silat’ in Indonesia because Japan has its own ‘karate’ and China has its ‘Kung Fu’. I’m very proud of being the part of silat family in Perisai Diri Club. I firstly joined it in 2014.

The celebration started at 8.15 and I came there around 8 with two of my neighbors taken by my dad with Fero, his car. I saw people with their silat uniform in the ballroom. Oh yes, the event was held at 12 Junior High School, Banyumanik, Semarang. The committee gave me a stickers and I bought the bigger ones to attach on my car’s window.

The speeches were delivered by our teachers and the committee. We saw a video about the development of the silat from time to time. There was also a performance done by two boys showing some actions and techniques in silat. They’re awesome!

Lastly, we enjoyed the ‘tumpeng’ rice (yellow rice with other Indonesian food such as eggs, chicken, dry spicy crisp and nuts, and so on). I and a few girls helped the chef to share the food to my friends. There were about a hundred people, but the food’s limited. Some of them and I didn’t get the food. That’s all right!

People were eating while enjoying singing performance on the stage. I took pictures with others near the photo-booth, holding text paper. In this occasion, I met a new guy that asked me to take pictures with him. He’s brave enough to talk to me and approach me first. I was blushed. His name’s Habib, a guy that is taller than me and kind of cute. Haha.

Habib gave me his LINE id so that we could chat there. I sent our pictures from my ipad to him. He wanted to talk further, so I gave him my phone’s LINE id. We chatted till midnight. In short, he’s studying in the same university like me, taking chemical engineering, HE’S A FRESHMAN! Three years younger than me, OMG!

What made me happy was he planned to have an English course with me at my home someday. He needed help to improve his ability and I think I’ll be a good teacher for him. Honestly, my students are mostly boys. Haha. Well, I’m always glad to have new friends anywhere. Friendship is a good way to build connection and relation. Moreover, I can sell my knowledge in English to them. Haha. Have a nice day, Maders!

Super Speed Reading Workshop

Hi, Maders! This Sunday I joined an event about improving reading skill. We weren’t talking about books to read, but more about the techniques of quick reading. The speaker came from Bandung and it was held by Cakep community. The word ‘cakep’ stands for Cita Rasa Kebaikan Pelajar. So unique, isn’t it?

I arrived at 8am sharp and I was given a present because I was the first girl coming there. What a surprise! Haha. I got the gift in the end of the session and it was a shirt. I love it!

I chose to sit in the front line because I would understand better what the speaker said. Somehow other students did not choose the front liner although the seats were free. I think they did not have much confidence to sit in the front line. Why? I’m brave enough since I was little because my Chinese friends in the past influenced me. You’ve gotta be the first, you’ve gotta be the one. Life is a competition!

From this event, I knew that I could read 480 words in a minute. Then, I was taught how to improve it by minimalizing my sight. I didn’t have to read the whole words. There’re two important main points in reading: main idea and supporting details. If we know these two, surely we know what we read. Finally, I could read 600 words per minute. Fantastic!

To be honest, I love reading because novels are my friends, especially fantasy ones. Some people say reading is boring, hmm, depends what you read. If it’s about school books, yes I quite agree. But try to read what you like first, then step up to the next level.

This workshop was totally free. I didn’t pay at all to join this event. In contrast, I got many things after attending it. Those things were knowledge, friends, experience, food, and a shirt. Hahaha. Thank you so much!

I spent much energy to think as long as the workshop was on the show. I hardly had time to check my phone or reply the chats. I totally gave my full attention to what the speaker said. It’s worth it. This afternoon I plan to take a nap. Haha. The best sleep for keeping my beauty. Have a good day, Maders!

Having Spa before Going to @Hom Hotel

Hello, Maders! How’s your day? I think I successfully got over from my fever, but now I’m having flu. How sad! On the other hand, I got body massage at Aluna Home Spa. It’s my and mom’s favorite spot to release stress.

I went from home at 10am and we stopped for a while to withdraw money from ATM at one of the Indomarets. I confirmed my arrival at Aluna 15 minutes before my spa schedule. I have booked the spa since two days ago. Here’s the thing, you need to make a call before having spa on the D-Day. It’s one day before.

I usually have spa every two or three months because once a month feels to rush. My skin hasn’t been completely ready for the quick pause. I love having spa because it’s relaxing and enjoyable. Somebody will massage you and scrub your entire body.

At Aluna, the concept is based on Javanese culture. While being massaged, you will hear traditional lullaby with gamelan from the audio. Yeah I admit that it’s a bit creepy there, but so far it’s fine. I never see ‘something’ and don’t want to either. Haha.

I had a chance to do mirror selfie with the therapist. Actually she’s the therapist of my mom, not me. The one massaging me was gone already. I asked her and told that the picture would be on my diary blog. This!

The next agenda was going to @Hom Hotel. My mom and her college friends had a reunion. It’s five years ago when the graduation was held. How fast!

I just sat outside the ballroom, finding my own world with the free wifi. I had a new friend, Daniel, from Loyola College. He’s sitting next to me and also accompanying his mom to the event. I gave him the wifi password and there was a silence for a moment. Next, he gave me his hand and I shook it, “Nissa!”.

That’s all for what I did yesterday. I believe everyone has their own way to enjoy life, but don’t forget to make friends. Ehem, hey boys, you do a good job if you introduce yourselves first to girls. Haha. You know what I mean! Bye, Maders!
