The Beauty of Netherlands

Hello, Maders! Welcome back again with me, Malia. How’s your day? Well, this is Thursday and I do house chores and reading a book as usual. My current read is Michael Hoeye’s Hermux Tantamoq. Hmm, I haven’t taken practice with my piano although I will have a piano course on Friday. Haha.

Okay, what I’m going to share this time is about the beauty of Netherlands. I got some pictures from my friend, Bodil. She lives in Groningen.

FYI, she’s very friendly and kind towards me. I spoke to her for the first time on HelloTalk. It’s an application for learning languages. I set my native language into English because I’m used to using English in daily life.

Well, it’s not easy to find friends through social medias or others. Usually people will reject me because they don’t really know me. And yes, I admit that we haven’t met in reality, but that’s not the point! I’m looking for international friends is for sharing cultures and discussing certain topics. It’s nice to talk with someone out there living in different part of the world.

Lastly, I really love tulips when I think about Netherlands. And windmills too! Bodil has sent me a postcard from Groningen. In fact, we sent a postcard to each other on the same day. Finally my postcard arrived there earlier than hers to Indonesia. Haha.

All right, wherever you are, keep being good to anyone. Don’t forget to be awesome. Have a good day, Maders! See ya!

Pak Supar's Fried Chickens Semarang

Hey, Maders! Do you like fried chickens with spicy sauce? Well, I like fried chickens but I don’t like spicy stuff. Haha. The last time I ate cassava chips with (little) spicy flavor, I got diarrhea directly.

Yesterday I had a chance to eat together with Mbak Dewi at Pak Supar’s in Semarang City. FYI, she’s a very kind and lovely person. I’m lucky to have an acquaintance like her.

We went to Pak Supar from Telkomsel where Mbak Dewi works. I brought my skateboard and put it inside her car. Then, a few minutes later we reached the destination and she parked the car across the street.

If I may say, the place wasn’t really comfortable and it was crowded, full of people who also had lunch. They’re employees from various companies. I could see it from their appearance. There’s no high school students eating there.

When I tasted the chicken, wow! The ingredients were made perfectly and the oil was stuck on my hands. Oh yes I had washed my hands before eating for sure. Hhaha. Mbak Dewi bought me soup too. It was nicely delicious.

Well, finally we finished eating and I got very surprise when Mbak Dewi paid the bill. I tell you, the price of what we ate was too much. It’s totally expensive! At least for a student like me, I have to kill myself first before deciding to eat there. Haha. It’s a hyperbole. LOL

I just can say thanks a bunch for Mbak Dewi that is always nice to me. I can’t count the money she has spent for making me happy whenever I’m being with her. I hope Allah always returns her kindness. Aamin!

Okay, that was my experience eating at Pak Supar’s for the first time. If it’s not because of Mbak Dewi, I wouldn’t have been there. Have a good day, Maders!

BRT Trans Semarang

Hi, Maders! Do you usually take a bus or drive your own ride? Honestly I mostly drive either a car or a motorcycle. This time, I want to share my experience about catching a bus to explore my city, Semarang. Haha. Actually I just went to a book fair, so it’s not really exploring the city.

Dad took me to the shelter with his car because he was about to go to the bank. I planned to accompany him to the bank first then I went downtown with the bus, but it was cancelled. There’s a ready bus, so I needed to catch it fast. Finally Dad went to the bank without me.

After buying the ticket for 3500k, I got in the bus. I still felt confused about the route, so I asked the bus conductor. I only had to pay once for going to my destination although I took three different buses because of the transit.

In another shelter, a girl offered me to have a bus card. It’s Semarang Hebat card from BNI. I need to top it up and save some money to the card, so I don’t need cash money for paying the bus the next time. It’s useful enough I think. I bought the card for 20k and the card contained 10k.

I’d like to tell you how I felt towards the bus. In my opinion, the bus was comfortable enough when it’s not full of people. The air conditioner ran well and it’s cold, even colder than my cars. Haha. The bus belonged to Mercedes Benz, but there were many scratches inside the bus, so it decreased the beauty of it.

Going with bus is fun when you’re not in a rush. I will take a bus when I’m lazy to drive and have free time to go to the destination. Seriously, I had better memorize the number of the buses with their routes. There are 6 buses with different ways. I need to, at least, understand where I go and the bus I take.

The things that I don’t like about the shelter are the chairs and the crowd. The chairs should have been bigger. My ass feels hurt when the chair is too small because it is like two cylinders. Haha. Sorry. Many students take the same bus like me when they are going home from school. Sometimes it’s too crowded to be with them. It’s okay though.

If I may say, you need to take care of your things. Be careful! Yeah I know it’s safe to take BRT but it’s not a sin to be aware of the pickpockets. Praying is also important. You don’t know what will happen with you while taking the bus. Only God can save and protect you from something bad.

Lastly, I recommend you to take public transportation more often. Leave your car or motorcycle in order to decrease traffic jam. Even you can economize your money to buy fuel. I met new people and talked to them and it’s a good way to make friends. Public, like its name, puts you in a society to gather around with people. We’re not alone living in this world. We always need others. See you, Maders!

EMTEK Goes to Campus 2017

Hello, Maders! In this April, Unnes had a chance to be the host of Emtek Goes to Campus 2017. Emtek stands for Elang Mahkota Teknologi which is hardware manufacturer.

It was held for two whole days, but I only attended the first day. I came there before 8 AM and waited in line for more than an hour before going in. I sat strategically in the front seat and it’s very close to the stage.

The news anchors, the MCs, the speakers, and the artists were fantastic. I met famous people whom I saw in TV before. They looked more gorgeous in reality compared to the TV screen.

As usual, I wrote something to ask a question after the session ended. This time I wrote ‘choose me’ on my iPad. Somehow when Raditya Dika was talking, a cameraman shot my face and a girl sitting next to me. I had no idea when my face popped up on the big screen above the stage.

Dika    : “Why’s she covering her smile with hands? Oh it must be an ugly smile. And look at the girl next to her (me), she’s not even laughing. Aren’t we funny?”

Suddenly I realized that the not laughing girl was I. Okay, it was my chance to be something unique. I waved my hand to Raditya Dika and of course the screen did the same showing my move. Next, I opened my iPad and showed the writing I had written ‘choose me’.

Raditya Dika wondered why I wrote it. FYI, I prepared it for the question session. A few minutes later, Dika asked me to come on stage. He chose me directly by saying, “you, the girl with iPad, come here!” I felt completely delighted. The reason why Dika made me to was for doing little acting with another artist there.

While being on the stage, I took my iPhone and got selfie with Dika and Lio (The Guys movie cast). I was such a lucky girl. Alhamdulilah!

In the end, they gave me a T-shirt (The Guys movie) with full of signs from the cast. OMG! Many friends felt envious towards me. They wanted to be like me. Yeah, my secret was praying much and having pure heart. Do kindness then you’d get unexpected surprise.

Another artist was Christian Sugiono. He used to be my idol. When I was in High School, I was crazy about him. He talked about digital entrepreneur that’s not my passion, so I didn’t really understand what he said. I had no desire to raise a question or took a selfie with him.

Anyway, the entertainment of the seminar impressed me. There were dancing, music show, and martial art simulation. They fought with bravery and seemed that they fell on the stage with hurt. Of course it wasn’t real, but it succeeded to make the audiences screaming. I just smiled looking at the people. I belong to a martial art club, so seeing this kind of fight is usual.

In short, this seminar was really awesome. It educated the participants and we had free entrance. After the event finished, a certificate was given for each person.

Well, Maders, if I may suggest, you had better always try to ask a question in seminars. Any questions. Please make one. Even if it has to be weird, that’s fine. At least you have courage to ask. Usually you will get a gift as a return. Be unique and creative!

Moopi The Cow Pillow

Hey, Maders! I have a new ‘pet’. Haha. It’s not a real animal, but I consider it as my pet. Honestly it’s just a pillow in cow shape. Without fluffy fur, it still looks cute. Moopi! That’s its name. Believe me, when you grab it, you won’t stop holding it.

Mom bought Moopi at Gramedia with me. We were looking for a test book because I needed to study before having a test. Then we saw Moopi. I held it and said I wanted to have it. Luckily, Mom liked it because basically it’s a neck pillow. Finally she agreed to buy me one.

As far as I know, there’re three kinds of cows being sold. They’re female and two male cows. I got a female Moopi cow. I avoided choosing the male because it’s sleeping with disgusting liquid on its nose. My female Moopi always smiles with closed eyes. It has blush cheeks as well. Aww cute!

I searched Moopi on Instagram and I found it. There’s an account named Moopi World. It shows all about Moopi. On the other hand, I should have gotten eyes cover inside Moopi. The cow can transform from a doll to neck pillow, but I had nothing inside its tummy.

Recently, I play a lot with Moopi than my fluffy yellow teddy bear. I’m falling love with Moopi and I always miss it when I go without it. Haha. How dramatic!

Me       : “Uhh Moopi is like my pet. I love it!”
Mom   : “Moopi is better than a real pet.”

Having pets means that I should take care of it including giving food and cleaning its poop. Ewww! Smelly! That’s why I don’t like having real pet. I love to hold them only but when it’s about their poop, I’d say ‘no, thanks’. Hahhaaha.

To be honest, I like Moopi more when it’s being a cow doll than a neck pillow. What do you think, Maders? Will you have the same opinion like me? You can have your own Moopi by buying it at Gramedia. Go ahead!
