Hello, Maders! Give me a shout for those who love Marvel Universe…yeay! Honestly I love both DC Comics and Marvel. This time I’ll talk about Captain Marvel at cinema.
Firstly I read the word “captain” and thought it might refer to a man like Captain America, but I was wrong. Captain Marvel here is a woman having supernatural power because of the explosion. She’s supposed to be dead after flying a jet plane. Surprisingly she’s still alive although losing her memory, only flashes she remembers.
The characters that aren’t coming from the earth look like The Guardians of Galaxy’s team. By the way, our earth is called C-53 (if I’m not mistaken) and one of the alien states it as shit-hole. Wicked! :v
There are funny moments and conversation in this movie. One of my favorite is when Agent Fury (S.H.I.E.L.D) tries to open a door using fake fingerprint but Vers (the nickname of Captain Marvel) does nothing. On the second door, Agent Fury is about to attach the fake fingerprint again but Vers uses her power of fire to destroy the keyhole.
My favorite dialogue is this:
A: “Hey, you never laugh.”
B: “I laugh…on the inside.”
He means he keeps his laugh, so nobody knows he’s laughing. What?! Hahaha you should see his face while saying this statement, flat.
The conflict is about a mission given to Vers: Skrull must be killed. There’s a plot twist here. The good is actually bad, and the bad is good. Confused? No, you won’t if you watch the movie. “Don’t trust anyone” is the clue.
The technology is extraordinary. You can see the space and their habitat on another planet. Captain Marvel doesn’t need oxygen while she’s flying at the sky. Oh yes, I almost forget that there is a special cat named “goose”. Its real name is Flarken and it has amazing power from its mouth. Physically a cat but its mouth sometimes shows huge tentacles like a squid and eat the enemy. Goose hides the Tesseract inside its body.
Finally I’ve found out why Agent Fury wears an eye patch like a pirate. His left eye is scratched by Goose unintentionally when he plays with the cat. Other S.H.I.E.L.D agents believe his eye is damaged because Agent Fury doesn’t give the Tesseract to the bad alien.
Marvel used to be from the word “Mar-Vell”, the name of a scientist creating the core of Tesseract. If you watch Marvel movies, you will understand the basic story. All is connected. Well, I give score for Captain Marvel 8.5 out of 10. Very recommended to watch. See you, Maders!
