Alita: Battle Angel Movie Review

Hi, Maders! Last Saturday, I watched Alita: Battle Angle with Regina. Usually, I watch movies on weekdays to get cheaper price. Okay, I was thinking to watch Lego Movie 2 but it’s not being played anymore at Transmart, so I chose Alita instead. From one to ten, I give it 9.

The story is about a cyborg girl (only head till shoulder) found by dr.Ido from the scratch, a place where metal garbage being thrown. He gave the cyborg body and named it Alita, just like his dead daughter. Alita lost her memory, so she accepted her new name happily.

In the past, the daughter of dr.Ido was paralyzed. Then, an evil cyborg stole medicine from dr.Ido’s house and killed his daughter. Since then, dr.Ido registered himself as Hunter-Warrior (bounty hunter for evil cyborgs).

Alita met a man named Hugo and they fell in love. This is the love story part and I love it. Hugo told Alita about his dream to go to Zalem (the flying world above). Alita hesitated herself to love Hugo because she is a cyborg. In fact, it didn’t matter for Hugo.

The conflict here is when Alita found out that Hugo’s job is to catch cyborgs and take their body parts. Alita was also betrayed when she played motor ball because there was a price for her head.

You may watch the movie to know the ending. I cried once when I watched Alita and Hugo’s miserable moment. My favorite character is actually Zapan, a cyborg that belongs to Hunter Warrior. I also admire the visual effect of this movie. It’s so perfect. You know, the hardest part of making a movie is editing section. The music is good as well.

FYI, there will be the sequel of Alita: Battle Angel because the number one enemy hasn’t been defeated. His name is Nova, living above in Zalem. He controls cyborgs and many things. Alita hasn’t gone up to find him yet. Alita is called Battle Angel because she has face like angel but her body is to battle. And if you love robots like Transformers, I think you love Alita. I can’t wait for the next movie! See you, Maders!

The Kid Who Would Be King Movie Review 2019

Hi, Maders! Do you know the legend of King Arthur? I said ‘legend’ because I doubt if he really existed. The story is about a boy successfully pulling out a sword, Excalibur, from a big stone. He is secretly the descendant of a rightful king. Hence, the throne belongs to Arthur. On the other hand, his step sister, Morgan Le Fay, wants to claim the throne. That’s the conflict.

I just watched a movie entitled The Kid Who Would Be King. It’s amazing! I’ve known the story of King Arthur because I had the novel and finished reading it. This movie relates to King Arthur because the main character, Alex, has Excalibur sword. Alex and Bedders (Alex’s bestfriend) are always bullied by Lance and Kaye at school. Nonetheless, they become allies and fight together with the whole students against Morgana.

There are four rules as long as they finish their mission: never say rude words, don’t give up, always tell the truth, and respect someone you love.

I love this movie because it’s fantasy. Moreover, Alex is good-looking kid. The setting of place is in England, so people speak with British accent. I try to always talk with British accent because I sound more like a royal family member. Hahaha. I really want to be in the story and accompany Alex at school.

There are some weird things though. Alex and his friends seldom eat (not at all I guess) when they are having journey to find Morgana. How can they gain energy? Even they don’t change their clothes. Next is about Lady of The Lake’s hand. In my opinion, her hand is too big for a girl. It’s almost muscular when she raises the sword above the water. I’m just saying what I thought. Don’t let them bother you. This is a very good movie and I want to watch it again actually.

Morgana has army in the form of ‘burning skeleton wearing armor’ called Mortes Milles. Morgan also can transform into a dragon breathing fire. The coolest part is when all students manage to defend their school from those Mortes Milles. Merlin needs to open a portal, so Morgana can be trapped inside. Meanwhile, Alex cuts Morgana’s head with the Excalibur.

Well, that’s my review about The Kid Who Would Be King. I recommend all fantasy lovers to watch this. You’ll learn history of King Arthur and His Knights (Round Table). Happy Watching, Maders!

Gifts in The End of 2018

Hello, Maders! Do you usually get something in the end of the year? How do you celebrate the New Year’s Eve? Well, sometimes Dad buys me something in the end of the year. I ask mostly for books. My family will enjoy the fireworks at the night sky twice a year. We see it on the night before Idul Fitri and on the new year’s celebration.

Congratulations for those who get gifts from your family or friends. I’m happy for it. You can ask your parents if they don’t give you something. Hahaha. But remember, ask them politely and be nice. Mom always gives me what I want if I get achievement at school. So, I’m very passionate to have a good score and study hard.

The same thing I do for my brilliant students. Those who get the highest score on exam and have been the most active will gain a gift from me. I spend much money for buying them gifts but I feel fine with it. I hope to keep their spirit to study harder. Life is a competition and they must be prepared.

I believe that someone will not be poor if he or she gives charity. I don’t mind spending some money for my students. God will give me something in return. It’s true! Not longer after that, my friend gave me a water bottle from Starbucks. Very nice gift! She said that this bottle (already mine) is the same with her son. Twin!

Actually that day was her birthday in this middle of December. I was attending a seminar at Neo Hotel, then I visited her at her office. She was having lunch with her colleagues at Solaria, then I came to her. I gave her a little star candle in pink. I think it will be suitable to place it on her working table. Suddenly, she also gave me the bottle. I was gladly surprised! Thank you, Mbak Dewi!

Indonesian will celebrate Mother’s Day on 22th December. I’ve had a gift for Mom. I’m going to give her Gatsby soap liquid. She uses it daily and I guess it’s not a bad idea to give her this Gatsby. She needs a new liquid soap bottle. I used to take a shower with Gatsby when I idolized Christian Sugiono. I was crazy about him at high school. Forgive me Kak Tian, but I don’t fancy you anymore. My next idol figure was dr.Ryan Thamrin but he’s passed away and it hurt me. He’s the closest idol I’ve ever had. We met, talked, and hugged in pictures and videos but he left me too soon.

Aquaman Movie Review 2018

Hello, Maders! Have you watched Aquaman? It’s about Arthur Curry, the member of Justice League in DC Comics. He is the king of Atlantis and master of the ocean. He looks muscular and serious, but he has a sense of humor. Anyway, I watched this movie alone, surrounded by couples. I played Rubik’s cube before the movie played.

So, I’m going to discuss a few things in Aquaman scenes. The story starts from how Arthur’s parents meet. His mom is the queen of Atlantis, and his dad is the lighthouse keeper. Then, Arthur comes to earth. Arthur is different (special) because he’s mix-blood and half-breed, the son of the land, the king of the sea.

The conflict begins when Orm (Arthur’s step brother) recruits other underwater kingdoms to attack the land. The sea gets polluted because of human, so Orm wants to have a revenge. Here, Arthur wants to stop Orm because killing human won’t solve the problem. Arthur must defeat Orm in a battle. The only way to win it is by using King Atlan’s trident. Arthur gets a help from Mera, Orm’s fiancé, for the journey of finding the golden trident.

Mera looks like Ariel, the Disney mermaid. She has bright red long hair and a beautiful face. Nevertheless, she swims with normal feet like human. Arthur and Mera can breath underwater or in the surface, every royal family can do so. The father of Mera is the actor named Dolph Lundgren. I LOVE HIM SO MUCH! He’s old but charming. OMG! I’ve loved him before this.

The phrase “so be it” has been spoken many times in this movie. I noticed it. Aquaman has a new enemy here, Black Manta, and he looks like ‘Ksatria Baja Hitam’. Just wait for it. Moreover, the palace of Atlantis before it’s drowned is just the same with the cartoon of Atlantis (led by Queen Kidagakash) I watched years ago. 

This film has funny moments. One of which is when Mera eats roses. Another is when Atlantian buries his face on toilet. He needs water because he can’t breath on the land. But he has no idea if it’s the place for pooping. On the other hand, there are touching moments on Arthur parents’ parting and meeting again. I cried twice on these scenes! Hahaha.

Aquaman is very recommended to watch for those who love fantasy. The adventure of Arthur Curry is amazing. There are many fighting scenes and unique underwater creatures, scary but attractive. I always watch DC and Marvel movies because I love superheroes. Well, that’s all for the review. Happy watching Aquaman, Maders!
