McDonald’s Ice Cream Smurfs Edition

Hi, Maders! Do you love ice cream? Yeay! Who doesn’t? Ice cream is the best appetizer on earth I think. Hahaha. Somehow ice cream can release stress and make me better. When I feel insecure, I eat ice cream to let it go.

McDonald’s has various ice cream to enjoy. This time I tasted vanilla cone ice cream in Smurfs edition. Smurfs are blue tiny creatures in a fantasy movie. No wonder that the ice cream is blue. Don’t worry, it’s not poisonous! Hahaha.

I used to collect toys from Happy Meal at McDonald’s but there was something happened and I didn’t do it anymore. I have a lot of toys though. Now whenever I go to McD, I will order French fries, ice cream, or juice/milk. It’s CountryChoice and Milo. Tasty!

It’s fun when I got 10% discount by using TCash Tap from Telkomsel. The last time I asked the employee, there’s no discount any longer. So sad! The normal price of the cone ice cream is aroun 8k, when I used TCash, it could be only 6k.

I always imagine a sweet scene in a movie when there are a couple eating ice cream together with different flavors. The girl asks the boy whether he wants to try her ice cream flavor. When the boy licks the ice cream, the girl will push the ice cream to his front nose. Then they laugh together. Finally the girl wipes the boy’s nose using tissue. OMG! So romantic!

Well, Maders, that’s only my imagination. I can’t expect those things happen in my real life. I can’t refuse it though. Haha. Keep calm and eat ice cream! Have a nice day!

SMK Pertanian Sunan Gunung Jati Ba'alawy

Hey, Maders! Are you still a student? I’m a student in Diponegoro University for master degree, but I’m also a teacher at a vocational high school for the tenth grade actually. It’s been more than a month that I work there.

Outside the class, I’m a friend of my students. On the other hand, they respect me as a teacher in the class. They seriously pay attention to me when I explain the material. They make jokes and we laugh together though.

It’s a small class and the total amount of my students is 20. They come from various family background. Everyone must have problem but it’s not necessary to bring it in the class. If they or I have problem, we shouldn’t express it through our bad mood.

English is the only subject I teach every Tuesday. I’m a free person for the rest weekend and I usually do things I like such as reading books, playing Clash of Clans on my ipad, and playing piano.

I can’t ignore when my students feel sleepy. I always call their names and put them on the question examples. The next stage if they still feel sleepy, I ask them to face their face and go back to class. I won’t be angry at them, but I always give scores or notes about their behavior as long as I teach them.

It’s not effective when a teacher asks the students to go out from the class because they are naughty. Punishment is given to make them realize their fault. Sometimes it also disturbs the teaching time. In other words, those students who are being punished don’t get the teaching material as it’s supposed to be. Thus, making small notes that affect their scores is the best choice to do I guess.

Okay, Maders, that’s my experience in teaching so far. If you’re a teacher or having dream to be a teacher, it’s good. I appreciate all teachers in this world. Let’s make our generation smarter. Be a good teacher! See you, Maders.

Indonesia Forest Day

Hello, Maders! Today’s the Forest Day of Indonesia. There’s a gathering of several communities at Pesta Keboen. We celebrated this day by sharing about forest and plans. This world is getting worse day by day and the life of forest is our only hope to maintain our future.

I got this information from my friend on Whatsapp status. If she didn’t put it, I wouldn’t have a chance to enter Pesta Keboen for the first time. Yeah it was my first time to be in such a cool restaurant with garden concept. I ordered almond pudding because I was curious with the price of the food. Mostly they're damn expensive and pudding was the cheapest.

I came there with my next door neighbor, Shafa. I was skateboarding at Taman KB in the morning then I visited Pesta Keboen to participate the event. I had to force her to sit in front. She’s very shy and I’m brave enough to do something first or do something uncommon. Haha. Very different!

People paid attention to me because I brought skateboard inside. I was like a high school student still but I told them that I study in Diponegoro University.

There’s a dance about forest but honestly I didn’t catch the meaning till the MCs asked the dancers to explain it on the stage. There were four dancers and it was a scary dance. Hahaha.

I needed to leave the event because I had an appointment with my friend, Rifqi, at UDINUS. He joined Japanese competition and had a technical meeting this day till the afternoon.

I met Rifqi and his mom for the second time. It was such a nice meeting with them again. I introduced Shafa to them because she would be joining the competition as well next week.

We ate snacks together and had a talk for about an hour. Then I felt tired and asked a permission to go home. Next week, I would like to see the competition on Saturday if I don’t have something to do.

Cooking Class at Semesta School

Hey, Maders! Do you love cooking? Can you cook something delicious? Don’t tell me that you can cook boiled water and instant noodle. Haha. Seriously it doesn’t belong to real cooking actually. I’m learning to cook with mom since a few months ago because I want to be a good wife for my husband. Ahh, who will it be?

Every two weeks, there’s a cooking class at Semesta Bilingual Boarding School. The founders are Hilal and other Turkish friends living at Semesta. I feel delighted to join them because Semesta is my favorite school. I was accepted when I enrolled for the junior high school. Hmm financial problem was the main thing because my parents were about to go to Saudi Arabia.

Hilal and other Turkish will guide me and Indonesian fellows to cook together at the kitchen. We will eat our cook for lunch. You know what, this event is totally free. I don’t know why. I want to donate something if I may such as flour or vegetables. Something that I can afford.

At last, we took selfie together with Sima, she’s still in the second semester majoring in Arabic language. She could speak Bahasa very well. I got many documentation for this occasion.

Foreigners and New Friends

Hi, Maders! Are you brave enough to start conversation with foreigners? Yeah when you see them, you had better talk. We can share about cultures and stuff. Although I’m an introvert person, I always feel confident to speak with them.

One thing that you should know is I love making friends. Anywhere and anytime I hope to meet new people. It’s a good way to build up relations and connection through various people.

The last time I was going to a wedding at Ronggowarsito Museum and two foreigners were standing in front of me, a man and a woman. The man asked a permission to take my picture and mom and yes, sure! Then I talked to them and he introduced his wife. They came from Hungary.

I guided them to go inside the wedding party by shaking hands with people. They didn’t have invitation for the wedding but everything was fine as long as they stayed by my side. I told them to enjoy the food as well but they’re busy taking pictures. No wonder, the man is a photographer. Oh yes, their names are Viktor and Victoria. How sweet! Same name and become a couple. Aww!

Viktor gave me his business card and we chatted on Whatsapp. He promised me to send a postcard when he went back to Hungary. Yeah! I’m a postcard collector so I always beg for postcards. Haha.

Recently I also met an Australian at a park. I accompanied my mom to have a meeting at a regency office but as usual, I found my own world. I played my skateboard around. Then I saw a foreigner sitting on a bench alone, operating his phone. I said, “excuse me, can I sit here?”

That’s how the things started. We talked about many things from our cultures and phenomena in the world. He bought me ice cream after walking around the park and I gave him my business card. We talked on Whatsapp too. He also would send me a postcard from Australia.

Okay, those were my nice experiences about meeting foreigners. I’d always love to talk to new people, especially those from other countries. Well, Maders, keep doing great and don’t forget to be awesome. Bye!
